Problem with syncing Korg sampler to Live 7

I've been trying to sync a Korg Electribe SX-1 sampler to Ableton Live 7 and it doesn't work, maybe somebody can help me out...here's the equipment I've been using:

Korg Electribe SX-1
Ableton Live 7
MacBook Pro (Intel Mac)
M-Audio FireWire 410 soundcard

what I was trying is I connected the sampler from the Midi In/Out (depending on which I was trying to use as master and which one as slave) to the Midi In/Out of the M-Audio FireWire 410 with a normal Midi cable.

it seems no information is transmitted between the sampler and Live, when used as master Live seems to transmit a Midi signal but the sampler does not receive it, when the sampler is master Live does not receive the signal...

also in the Live Preferences window I don't find the sampler. I would be quite happy if somebody knew how to fix this problem...thanks

Well, first of all, you won't get the Electribe as an option in Live's preferences pane. This is because all your mac is seeing is the firewire410..

When it comes to sync, what I have to do with my Korg Triton is to set it to external sync in global mode (Not sure how this is done on your electribe though, I guess the manual is a good place to start).

Also I have to set up my midi interface "out" with the sync option in Live's preferences pane.

It's actually very well described in the Live manual (chapter 24).

Hope I led you in the right direction, and not just to more confusion
