Multiple Songs in a Live Set?

Hi,

I'm quite new to Live 7 and need some advice -

Can I construct an entire gig setlist in one Live set?

Some songs my band plays are programmed in Arrangement view, others are in Session view. Is there a way of not having to load the next Live set between songs and just have one continuous set for multiple songs?

There is a way but not something i would do in front of a live audience. Do you know what the "back to arrangement" button does?

Lets say you run your session view first. Go all the way through it, in arrangement view your cursor will move but it won't play the sounds loaded in. Once you're done with that tune, hit the "back to arrangement" button, hit tab to switch, move your cursor to the front of your next song and go.

In my experience playing with live bands (a lot), loading songs between time is not so bad. Make sure the singer has something to talk about etc. The guitars need to tune anyway

I like to make all of my sets look and behave the same to eliminate mistakes, so you might want to move to one view or the other for simplicity. This way you can load multiple songs right after one another by automating the tempo.

A problem i've had is trying to load to many audio files in one set (like 4 or 5 songs with a bunch of tracks and audio). Even with all the track frozen it can sometimes glitch the computer. Not cool for click tracks. So i try and be careful how big they are.

so yeah there is way. sorry, didn't feel like i actually answered your question.

Just go to your browser, click the lil triangle next to the live set you want to add. From there you can drag in all the tracks you want to use. Each instrument of each song usually gets it's own track, and it happens automatically this way. all your effects and envelope are saved, but not your midi mapping.

Just drag it into an EMPTY space and it'll load em up. Pretty cool. This works in either vew.

I am wanting some kind of quick setlist switching feature since i think v1.6.
It seems i am not the only one having problems with the way i have to switch between sets ins live.

the funpart is i am actually buying the upgrade to v7 now because they at least
surpressing the " need to stop audio" when opening a new set now!

I need to be able to switch between 30 sets as the setlist always changes a bit.

so again:

PLEASE ABLETON make something like a progam change assignable setlist
so i would NEVER need to see the laptop!!!
