cut special / paste special ?

Post by timit » Sun May 18, 2008 5:48 am

Hey. In session view, in the edit menu there's options for cut special and paste special (shift, apple, c or v). Although they are greyed out..

Does anyone know whats so special about them?

Basically i'd like to be able to move playing tracks between channels without using the mouse, and i cant easily see a way how. When you drag a playing clip it continues playing seamlessly and so without problems, but ideally i'd like to be able to move clips mouselessly (if thats a verb). The closest way is by copying and pasting the track, but its not ideal, as when you paste the track it isnt playing so you have to start the new track playing at the right time and then delete the old one.

If anyone knows a way of doing it i'd appreciate any advice..
Cheers, Tim.

This is a really good question

Everytime you can use it it's called cut time / paste time but you are right, in session view without any selection it appears as cut / paste special greyed out.

A search in the manual for both terms lead to nothing, looks like a typo error to me.

it cuts / copies / or pastes a time selection you have in arrangement view. I use it a lot.
