You can live in A'dam if you can get up to at least 1500 EUR each month.liveISlife wrote:by the way i dont have a collage education. i do have some janitorial experience is it hard to find a job like that there? and do they get paid enough to live comfortably in a apartment?
But that would not be the most comfortable life. Ideally you should make about 2000-2500 EUR to have a nice place and to be able to buy nice clothes and stuff. The Netherlands are very expensive to live it, but also very very nice.
As a janitor you would be swinging around that 1500 I guess, but if you decide to go study you get paid (while you perform good at a university) for a part of your expenses as a student. Apartments only to students become available to you, and they are quite nice. Also public transportation becomes very cheap and so on. If you graduate in let's say IT you can catch at least 2500 each month. Hope this info helps

I just watched the whole documentary
There is such a huge industry that would lose in the legalization of drugs, but there's also just as large an industry that could capitalize on the legalization of drugs
I asked someone close to me, "If half your case load weren't drug cases would you be out of job?"
she said, "No, it would free me up to do more important work."
I mean, legal or not you're going to get your fix - it's just a matter of going to the 7-11 or that one dude.
I mean hustlers are going to hustle, that's what they do - sell drugs or real-estate - used cars or insurance - hustlers hustle
but raise the opportunity cost of selling drugs and I bet they find another hustle
He touched on a couple things that made sense. I wouldn't go so far as calling it a racial thing as it is a class thing. Keeping the lower class uneducated, incarcerated (Those private prisons) and basically blind to world larger than the one they live in, is enough to keep drugs illegal.
the people at the bottom can keep the ones at the top happy - basically there's gotta be losers. Drugs will definitely keep you in the loser category.
I do hate it when people compare places like Amsterdam to America when it comes to drugs - there's a lot of unique things about each and it's just not fair.
Should weed be legal - yes
Do I believe the CIA was involved in the crack epidemic - yes
it was a very good documentary

I really hope you're not just trying to escape from NY(or USA in general) just so you can smoke and shroom without worrying about the fuzz. I must admit, I had my share of fun, but its nothing to live for an entire lifetime. Also, its most certainly not a realistic reason to base a decision on where to live. If someone must do/try drugs or are going to, fine go ahead and enjoy for a bit, but you must GROW UP! You can't run and play for your entire life.liveISlife wrote:hey thank you a lot for that info friendsolex86 wrote:You can live in A'dam if you can get up to at least 1500 EUR each month.liveISlife wrote:by the way i dont have a collage education. i do have some janitorial experience is it hard to find a job like that there? and do they get paid enough to live comfortably in a apartment?

I watched half of the documentary last night and I'm about to finish it in a sec. Yes, the US is corrupt and full shit, but its still not a bad place to live. Besides, its not like other countries don't have corrupt leaders either, so WTF!
