midi mapping problem with alesis control pad

hey
im using a alesis control pad with impulse but i cannot get it to map to any
of the other midi control.i want to use pads and foot switches to turn on and off channels and effects.
any ideals.

Enable it as a remote control surface in the Prefs.

its not coming up in the list of controller options
