Live 4 support for Mackie Control standard is:

useless, I have tried Mackie Control devices with a compatible DAW, and I prefer to stick to plain dial/fader boxes.

I don´t know, I never tried such a remote controller.

you need to do is change some wording
Ok Loophead, you convinced me.

Now you tell me how I do to edit a poll? 8O

And where do the votes already in will go? :?

More seriously, I got your point, and I do agree. The question is "Do we consider support for control surfaces a necessity, or are we happy with fader/dial boxes?". Live does a great job already with MIDI learn and widgets control, but you know where my vote goes I guess. I mean, I want BOTH.

mackie control , its about time... Common ableton, lets make it happen. Midi is like 20 years old, we need more power captain. Take a look at this compatibility chart.

http://www.mackie.com/products/digital_ ... chart.html

everyone else has already implemented this. Can you guys at least give an estimate how long it will be before support for these mix surfaces is implemented?

Just gotta have that Mackie Control support. When using Live the poor mixer is just sitting there collecting dust, would absolutely LOVE to use them together.
The weird thing is, I remember going to an LA NAMM show a couple of years ago where Ableton was in the Mackie booth demoing Live with Mackie Control!! So I imagine there was a start, let's hope they finish it soon...

I have a motif es on the way which supports MC. I'm on the fence about purchasing Live at the moment but with MC support I could leave Logic behind.

just bumping this. i'm checking in to see if anything has been done in regards to mackie control support, can't believe nothing's changed...

ha...just checked the link here:
http://www.mackie.com/products/digital_ ... chart.html
live is the ONLY app with no support listed. cool edit pro and something called 'mixtreme' have mackie support and live doesn't? now that's just embarrassing...

Soundscape Mixtreme is not 'something called...', it's actually so high end mortals rarely hear about it ;)... anyways, I agree..

I already posted a request for control surface support last week too. I would greatly appreciate KORG MICROKONTROL/KONTROL49 native support in Live.

It works just like the mackie control protocol, assigning automatically parameter values AND NAMES to the LCDs/encoders/faders. It is really awsome when you see it working. Propellerhead's Reason 3.0 already supports it, so now it's a must-have in Live!

cheers
