Organizing the song library.

Lately I've been trying to index and organize all my songs so I can start using the drag and drop method of playing live. I was wondering if anybody had any tips or advice on good ways to organize.. How is your directory structured? genre/bpm, bpm/genre, a different structure? I also have a lot of songs that have the same synth vst in them.. Should I put them in the same track all the time, should I create mixdown tracks so everything can be easily routed to about 4 same tracks? i.e. Drums, Bass, Lead, Vocals.. How do you pros go about doing this? Thanks for any advice or info you could impart.
