PCMCIA USB2 card causes Live to go slow

I just installed an NEC 4 port USB2 PCMCIA card on my Dell laptop and it makes Live 4.01 go so slowly it's unusable, then it hangs if you try to do anything much.

Any one else have similar problems?

I had issues with the cardbus controller and my Echo Indigo causing the same thing. Turned out to be an issues with a "prefetch" setting on the ENE PCMCIA controller (typically not user adjustable). Echo was kind enough to write a small app that lets you disable this, and then everything was perfect.
