how do you render to disk in live 7 use to do it all the while in 5 and 6 but the option seems to have moved

It's under the File menu. RTFM.

still lost i go to the file menu in the top left hand corner and there is no rtfm there

then please do this
extend your right arm out in front of you slightly elevated, palm up
close your hand into a fist
as quickly as you can, bend your elbow through it's entire range
you should feel a sensation of pain in your face, if not, adjust accordingly
repeat vigorously

L7 it's called export.
