I currently use a room in the basement. Eventually I'd like to build another room inside it.

Any pics of your room from the outside? Just want to see how it looks.
Hey Verbal,

It's the outside of my house on 2 sides, my wife's office on the other side and then the wall that's inside the garage. I can send pictures, but they're not going to be exciting. Let me know and I'll email them to you...

Ken
I was thinking you walked into your garage before walking into your studio. I was hoping to see pics of the entrance to the studio. But if you can't tell it's a room inside a room in the garage, then seeing pics won't matter. :)

Thanks though.

my messy shoe-box studio . .

the "monitors" are the kind of multimedia speakers with a subwoofer unit... so real monitors are my next gearing-up operation. i work with 2 different pares of headphones (oh really, its not recommended, why?)

lol, OKAY -there are WAY too many clean studio setups there, hehe.

Here's a picture of my home rig taken just before a major... revision, as it were. And yes, it's clean now... and boring ;)

@evanb -
when placed like that, the monitor's frequency response becomes worse than it already is; the desk's surface reflects some soundwaves into the main source you end-up hearing, but in doing so it phases them out, since they interact within themselves out of sync. Maybe you already know ... so maybe this comment is helpful for someone who didn't know. Just trying to help here, evan.

@dodeca -
when placed like that, the monitor's bass is pretty much exaggerated. It's should make your room sound as if you turned up the leftest faders in the EQ... maybe you like that big bass sound, eh? maybe you've heard your mixes in other environments and cried out in pain, "Eeeeh, where is my bass?" .... this is that. Again, maybe you already know ... so maybe this comment is helpful for someone who didn't know. Just trying to help here, dodeca.
