ART MPA GOLD & ART PRO VLA - Tube Replacement!

Post by Jack F » Tue May 27, 2008 12:55 pm

Hey, i've just got my hands on the ART MPA Gold pre-amp & the PRO VLA compressor. I've had a scan through the interweb about the tubes in these units, and most people seem to reccomend replacing the factory ones with some that are better.
If any one has these units and could reccomend some decent tubes to get, it would be well appreciated. Im pretty new to this tube stuff :?

cheers

Jack

Tubes

I got an ART studio V3 pre amp a time back and swapped the cheap nasty chinese tube for a 5751 electro-harmonix.Big difference in sound ,well worth it.It does say you ruin the warrenty if you open it up and mess around with it.Well just make sure you use the right tool to open it,and if anything does go wrong with it,you can quickly change the tube back without it looking like it has been opened (i.e no chewed, rounded screws).
