I was just logging on to say the same thing, the reason you got involved was because you where attacked. You didn't just want to help us.

The russians are the real hero's. They lost countless men. Their government was brutal, yeah, but all the soldiers who died who made a hell for the germans. They where in trouble before you came at all, because of the russians.

The Germans rejected fascism and Nazism. The people of the US havent rejected Democracy, but some of them have let their idea of democracy become perverted by a bunch of religious bigots. (ie the Bush conservative Christians). So you may want to stop generalising. A lot of US citizens think that the whole response to 9/11 is wrong, and their current middle east policy is misguided.

I know i was generalizing but what else can i do talk with someone who talks about me owing anything to you for something going on before my grandparents even existed.

of course i respect what happened etc, but it doesn't give me a reason not to critizize your current government!

Genuine question here. I always thought that the US got involved in WWII 'cos the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, that was what we were taught in school. But you, and other North Americans before you, claim that you got involved because you wanted to "bail our ass out" and came "come to our rescue".

Sorry, we don't do lynchings as well as.... well, you know...Anyway, my point wasn't whether my cute white butt is safe because of the US; I wasn't arguing whether or not "your" help was essential so there's no need for you to repeat adventurepants point. He made it already.

My question was about him saying that the US came to our rescue. It didn't. It came to it's own defence. Believe me, we're grateful for your involvement back then, without which etc etc, but I just don't see it as some big case of charity, that's all.

actually the mere point of someone clearly not old enough to have even been alive in that war to sit here behind their computer in a comfortable environment that their grandfathers helped make possible to say "we saved your ass in WW2" is an immediate, sure fire sign of total and utter moronic stupidity.
