Assigning critical functions to M-audio 02

Hello all, I'm now in the procces of recording multiple instruments, sitting in my drumset and ableton is my solution, for that i need to have control over the stuff going on iive, This is perfomance+arragement stuff. What should I be thinking when configuring knobs and buttons in my small keyboard and ableton for fast and efficient music making, I also been thinking on using those midi to keyboard translators like controlaid or midistroke, any recomendations on those???

midistroke is great. I use it to convert midi commands into keyboard commands. sometimes you will need both to control some function in Live. Or multiple functions at the same stroke.
