(OT) Alex Jones money bomb! Help out people!

That declaration involves a commitment to try to stop illicit arms trade, which is where the "seizing Americans' guns" part came from. Of course we would seek to stop illicit arms trade, but that has nothing to do with taking away the right to bear arms in America.

So, rather than write an article educating people about the globalist leanings of Obama's political philosophies (although not specifically about Obama, Dr. Paul's book does a very good job educating about sovereignty vs globalism, etc) Alex Jones's infowars writes up a manipulative article aimed at painting Obama as wanting to seize guns and institute global taxes, leaving any gullible readers to conclusions that are non sustainable because they are not true.

(Here's an example of a globalist position, written by the Chair of the CFR, Richard Haass)

Also, it's worth mentioning that Alex has been predicting the same imminent catastrophe stuff for a really long time now. He said Y2K would be a turning point, he said Soviets were firing nuclear missiles at us on 12/31/99. The signal-to-noise ratio is just too shabby. It's like he is on maximum volume at all times, so he ends up with little credibility.

I have known many people that get awakened by Alex Jones, really want to do something about these problems, then get so paranoid about the endless conspiracy crap that they don't want to do anything about it because they're terrified of the secret police breaking in their door. After a while, they get disempowered and disillusioned with the whole thing and go back to where they started, although much more paranoid and cynical than before.

I think Alex Jones would serve much better without the sensationalism, and really working hard to educate people with just facts about these problems, and also educate people on what can be done about it.

Dude I feel you man. But when ur a dumb janitor like me there is no better way to help pass the time at work then to listen to the Alex Jones Show podcast. Maybe one day I'll be smart like you guys!

Nah, man, you're not dumb. It's awesome that you're turned on to what's going on in the world. Hopefully you'll continue to seek knowledge and grow. Just gotta take everything with a grain of salt, whether Alex Jones or Noam Chomsky. Speaking for myself, it's taken a few years, but I feel my perspective has grown a lot during that time, and I have a much better grasp of the events going on around me. A few years ago I was talking up Alex Jones all over this board too.

Funny how that anti-admin thing works....I remember lots of people were talking about a Kucinich/Paul ticket for a bit, not realizing that their political philosophies are totally opposite on most issues, although they are united in their opposition to the current administration, and corruption in general.

Please, let's not go grouping Alex Jones with Noam Chomsky. Where talking about two different worlds her. Noam Chomsky is a linguist, political activist, author, and philosopher. He has also made innumerable contributions to the fields of linguistics and psychology. He is professor emeritus of linguistics at MIT and one of the most quoted authors in history. Alex Jones on the other hand is a paleoconservative radio host and wanted to rebuild David Koreshs' branch davidians church. The branch Davidians are an off shoot of the seventh day adventist church which like any other religion is full of shit. Suffice to say they believe in a literal interpretation of the bible, which basically means they are morons. My suggestion would be to research the background of an author or commentator before you start believing what they say. It's easy to get caught up in the opening statements, "you are being controlled by the government," "secret organizations control the world," etc etc... You have to look for the proof, don't be afraid to ask for empirical evidence. Thats why I like Chomsky he points to well documented events as examples and you can search online and see the results. You can pick up an acredited scientific journal and see his research in action. Alex Jones is just alot of noise and static there is no real fact or information. It's fucking filled with all this hollywood sensationalism, I guess thats what makes people interested is all the conspiracy and craziness surrounding his allegations. In the immortal words of flavor flav DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!! Also don't put Chomsky in the same sentence as such a moron.

I checked out one of the links bakoy posted, links some of you retards responded to saying something along the lines of 'good stuff, thanks for posting' ...and I couldn't really believe what I heard. He spent the opening minutes selling books and videos, looking for money, talking about the shite he's previously peddled with names like 'info-superdomination-war' , 'terrordome-extreme-explosion-order' , 'death-camp-america-2000' .... eventually he get's around to ranting and raving for his key audience, but by that point...only the cabbages continue to listen & process the info-muck he spews into their ears. I'm aware of the differences. I put them in the same sentence together because they are both coming from a perspective, and this perspective must be taken into account when reviewing their work, same as any other author on this planet. I am not putting them on the same level intellectually. I get an enormously greater perspective, intelligence, and facts from Chomsky than Jones (haha, funny to even say that!), but I also recognize that Chomsky is coming from somewhere too.
