you can take your padKONTROL out of native mode by pressing setting and scene at the same time.

or powercycle the unit

ah okay thanks!

edit:

Okay so i'm trying to set it up, and feel like an idiot:
- Set dropdown "From padKontrol" to your pK's MIDI In Port 2. On Windows this could be named "USB Audio Device [2]" . But on windows that this could be named anything. This will set up your pK to accept MIDI which will trigger pads to light. Good Luck!
How do I do that? Under "From padKontrol", what would i put, i see "padKontrol 1 MIDI In", "padKontrol 1 Port A" and "padKontrol port B", along with "In from MIDI Yoke: 1 [through] 8".
- Set dropdown "From pK" to your pK's MIDI Out Port 1. This could be "USB Audio Device" but again, could be anything depending on how many USB MIDI Controllers you have connected to your system. This sets up Monomulator to receive MIDI from your pK
I think I got that one, but i don't have a "From pK", just "From padKontrol" which I assume is the same as the first part? If so, what does this one mean?
- Set dropdown "To Monome App" to "MIDI YOKE 1".

Got this one.

- Click "Go Native Mode". This will set up PadKontrol to communicate with MLR via OSC.
- XY Pad and Main Encoder on PadKontrol can be sent to whatever you want ( Live, Logic, Reason, Energy XT ) . Data for both are sent out the same port. You can define this port via "XY & Main ENC Out" Dropdown menu. See MIDI Implementation chart below. Note that all of the PK's buttons, knobs, and XY Pad that send MIDI can be sent to any MIDI able application.
How do I set it up with Live? I see the same options for this one as the previous 3 dropdowns...

oh, and should my OSC prefix be "mlr" or what?

thanks guys for ANY help.

drop downs should read:
- Padkontrol port A
- Padkontrol CTRL
- whichever Midi Yoke you want, e.g. 1
- don't bother (set later, when it's working)

set the OSC prefix to MLR. I hope you've downloaded [url+http://wiki.monome.org/view/AppMaxMspMlr]MLR[/url]

click "Go Native Mode" - your pk will flash, and the lcd will say something. Open MLR, from here you'll have to figure out the midi settings, since I can't remember off the top of my head, but if you get the native mode working then mr BangInclude will probably help you out with that part

If you have launched Monomulator you must have found the .exe to run it. maybe you meant something else?
Can you explain a bit more?

I can run MonomulatorWIN, but how do i run the MLR?
In MLR:
- Load up MLR. Click "Options" then "MIDI" and under "midi setup" dropdown select to "MIDI Yoke 1" ( this should be the same port as "To Monome App" in Monomulator ). Take a look at what functions are assigned to your padKontrol. Look at MonomulatorIMP.jpg to see which buttons/knobs control what in MLR. You are now ready to go. Have Fun!!!!
That's the part I can't figure out. I got the program linked above (http://wiki.monome.org/view/AppMaxMspMlr) but I don't know how to run the program that that page has a picture of...

I have the Max Runtime thing too, but the "40h_mlr_2.3", i don't see a .exe to run it, know what i mean?

No audio or 'movement' from MLR.

I will try the monome forum but its not looking good.

open the monomulator standalone
Open MLR with Max Runtime ( the order of opening these shouldnt matter )
set your MIDI ins and outs, choose your padKontrol input A... ( on OSX it should set your ins automatically, i had reports by one or two people that this would not work for them due to their PK having a different name in MIDI prefs. So there should be another standalone in the archive called something like " choose your inputs )
drag in some loops....bang on the pads....
definately check out the monome site for more info about MLR as the directions that come with it are pretty skint...

did you install quicktime? pretty sure you need quicktime to be installed. not my requirement, its a Max requirement for certain types of media files to be reckahnized...

also, did you open MLR with the max runtime? what version? do you have your MIDI ports set properly? just thinking of what else it could be...the more you tell me the easier it is to isolate the hiccup....

Yep I got quicktime installed,
Latest version of Max/msp runtime and MLR
Midi setup properly - but i can try to change them and see !

And cheers for the help mate.

Its not easy to figure out what the problem is without much help from the Monome peeps. Considering your app s a sysex-osc converter, I think its something to do with their app.

But their forums are pretty sparse about the problem.
