Repeatable Reason Rewire crash ...
Repeatable Reason Rewire crash ...
XP SP2
Live 7.0.1 & Live 7.0.2b5
Reason 4.0.1
Novation Remote SL 4.1
Workstation ...
2GB RAM
Core2Duo 6300
Quicktime 7.4
M-Audio Audiophile 192
Laptop Dell M65 ...
4GB RAM
Core2Duo
Quicktime 7.2
Creative Sound Blaster Live 24bit Exernal ( ASIO4ALL v2.8 )
Start Live and created an audio track
Start Reason using empty template and create a mixer (output to channel 1/2) - also create a Thor device
Either by regular method or by Exernal Instrument, establish rewire connection from Live (master) to Reason (slave)
Go to Reason sequencer and select Thor
Play the Novation keyboard and make sure you are getting audio from Thor through to audio track in Live
Now hit the record buton in Reason and start playing the keyboard
Either immediately or after a few seconds of playing, the cursor will jump back to 1.1.1 and you will no longer be able to record. At this point transport in Live will completely stop working and you will have to quit.
Things I have tested ...
I have tested this on a desktop pc and a laptop (see above for hardware details) with exactly the same results
This only seems to happens when using a Novation Remote SL
I will send this directly to Ableton Support but it would be useful to know if anyone else has the same problem.
Thanks

Yes I do.Alex wrote:Do you have the Remote SL selected as controller surface in Live?
I've just tried this and it makes no difference.Alex wrote:Does it happen also when you disable all MIDI ports within Live and no controller surface is selected?
I have also just sent an email to support with a video clip showing the problem. Please take a look if you can.
Try setting the Thor patch to FM Sync Lead. And when you play the keyboard, try repeatedly to hold down 3 notes for several seconds at a time.
Originally I thought it was a problem with my workstation but when I had exactly the same results on my laptop I realised it must be something more general.
Thanks.

anything new on this? lI think I'm having a similar crash. The tempo resets to 0 bpm and Live dies, see the thread at: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 0ac93176c9
