hating you! :)

Mine has to be the Lemur - it gets involved in everything I do, from visuals to installation work to music. Love it.

Creamware Pulsar soundcard, bought one way back when it was first released and it's still in my computer, although now extended with two more Creamware (ok now SonicCore) cards.

EMS Putney Synthesizer for $750
Well my best purchase was my Korg MS20. It taught me loads about synthesis. then I was given another one as well as an SQ10 sequencer.
Then after many years of searching I got hold of an MS50 and another SQ10. I sold the SQ10 and the extra MS20. That enabled me to get mac laptop and Ableton Live.

In the midst of all this I was also given a EMS VCS3. Yum Yum !!!
I have been very lucky with this stuff.
During these years I started to build an Digisound 80 modular and was then given about 20 modules.

So now my set up constsists of a good Digisound. the full Korg MS system and an EMS. Plus Ableton Live and Reaktor. I love them all.

Oberheim Two-Voice # 16. I bought it for $99, and a year later sold it for $600 (I needed the cash more than the synth at that time).

My CS60 (which I still own)- bought that for $50 from the original owner back in '86 or so.

...really, I bought analog stuff in the early 90s.... to numerous deals to mention..!!!!!!! but that will never come back...!!!

however, my recent excellent purchase, that you can maybe find too, is a Nord Modular rack (version 1) for 350$. It is real nice for the price, and you can maybe find one around!

Hello aburgener!

I have not, but would like to. I keep changing things around though... But I'm settling on a basic setup that I'm comfortable with. The post your set up" is a great thread. I love looking at everyone's setups, some are very inspiring.

I did take a number of photos when I was still using a desk/chair setup, but have switched back to a sitting on a cushion on the the floor style. I always felt more inspired that way.

I plan on painting the studio, then I'll post some images. So, to use the original title of one of my favorite television shows "Please Stand By".

+1 - looks like you got the coolest folktek product ever, even. I like the wheel and all that. Cool.
The first time I saw the Folktek Dronescape Sequencer I fell madly in love with it. It is absolutely beautiful, & vaguely macabre. I thought of the film "Dark City", & imagined The Strangers using it to inflict some sort of memory modification on the captured citizens... I had to have it! I honestly didn't even care what it sounded like, I just wanted to be able to look at it!

To my great satisfaction it sounds amazing. It creates strange sound-creatures that live out their lives & explore their odd little world. Very organic & alive.

Here are the words of it's creator Arius Blaze, describing the unique mechanical magnetic sequencer:
"This is another collaborational work by Ben Houston and I. We made our own sequencer for this. It's based on magnetics = the opposing force pushes the custom metal parts down to make switches. The speed of the propeller is adjustable. This controls one of the bug circuits."

i know it sounds silly and predictable but Ableton Live 7 was a GREAT purchase for me, everytime I open it i discover something new. Reason 4 is pretty awesome too.

2008 is the year that I made the jump to recording on a computer so and still hung up on software....I guess it wouldn't hurt for me to add my Mac Book Pro to the list too!!
Ryzen 7, MSI B550 Tomahawk.
Ableton 11 Suite
Multiple basses.
