Live export video doesn't compress audio?

Can anyone tell me if Live compresses the audio when exporting video too, or does it always get wrapped as an AIFF or WAV to the video wrapper, no matter what audio settings you choose in the video compressor?

Also what is the best way to make mp4 videos so I can use them with Serato ScratchLIVE? Say if I had VOBs what would be best to convert them to for Ableton 7 so I could then convert them again to mp4?
