Are you re-sampling other peoples work or can you say that this all was done by you?

The other thing is if this was all done by you. the point of having diminished vocals is to reveal the real vocals underneath, having the vocals go on and on with the effect gets kinda old.

Double check your sample rights! ...DJ

Some are samples just chopped up, flipped and rearranged. The other synth stuff is instruments played in live. Thanks for the listen and comments though.

Ya this was a harsh thing to say and I would take it back if I could but ..I can't.
I'm not sure what his method of production so I shouldn't have posted that comment.

But I did truly thought He was useing vocal material from other songs, but maybe not if he did not say "remixed" or gave credit to so and so, than he must be creating original work, which it great.

Don't flam me because I have a difference in my opinion , or had at the time!

sorry stereomike that was kinda rude of me to say!

Yes but the point is, is so what if he is using a sample. A huge percentage of known producers also use samples without crediting anybody for it. Samples have become a part of modern production. It's not what you've got that counts, it's what you do with it.

thanks for the listens and comments everyone. Don't worry I'm not offended, about the samples comments. I use a lot of samples and don't see anything wrong with taking a sample and forming it into what type of musical part you want it to take in your song. I don't really see the difference between taking a sample from a record and a sample from sounds on the street or in the forest etc. Our world is one immersed in sounds and vibrations and find it funny to think anyone "owns" any of it. Like no ones every copied a particular three chord progression. Or come up with a "original" melody. Everything is part of a great cycle that morphs into another cycle etc. I really appreciate everyone taking time to listen though. peace.

nice toons ( hey come n have a holiday out in europe one summer, you n yer toons 'd fit in lovely over ere)

hey, abort? can we hear what you do? got any toonz up somewhere?

i saw a lovely interview with james brown on sampling quite a few years back (beeen trying to track it down on the net with no success) if i remember rightly his view was this.

he was firmly against it because being sampled is like someone waited till you was asleep , stole yer car keys, took your car for a drive from here to the next city and back stopping at a bodyshop on the way...oh you get your car back but its been sprayed a different colour and the seats don't feel the same no more.

personally i equate it to things like trying cracked software, eating the odd mcdonalds, or underage drinking. WE KNOW ITS WRONG, but people still do it anyway........

right well i'm off to recycle the funky drummer for the millionth and first time WHATDOES HEEEE CARE, he's dead int he?

thanks for the compliment. but dear god I feel horrible to be put in the same category as people who eat mcdonalds, underage drink, and hack software. I'd like to think of my self as a more open source kind of gentleman. Just taking what's out there and making it my own, for free. But god help me if James Brown can hear beyond the grave. He's gonna come FUNK up my shit, I just know it. HEY!!! YEAH!!! HIT ME!!!!!!!
