Problem moving a project from one computer to another

Post by CaseyDC » Mon Jun 09, 2008 11:00 pm

K,
I have been working on a live set putting all my samples
that i have recorded into one session on my desktop.
Recently transfered the project (almost a gig worth) to my laptop.
Now, when i try to open it live crashes when it loads the set every time.
I have tried to work around it by opening a new
session and adding them(tracks) manually but it will crash
when i try and select one. Has anyone ever came across this problem?
All plugins ,if any, that were saved are the same ones
i have for both machines.
Both machines are the same operating systems(os x 10.5) with live 7.07.
What shall i do? Any help would be appreciated.

maybe you could try to save it as a live pack, then drag the pack from the desktop, into your default session... i would guess it is 7.0.7... have you tried maybe 7.0.2? i'll see if i can replicate your prob later, tho it'll be 10.4 and .5

I think Adonis had this problem, sets on the desktop. maybe move it off the desktop if that's where it is on the 2nd computer.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried it with a couple different versions of live and i 1st saved it as a live pack that's when the problems first happened. Then i just copied the whole project. Still crashes :(

I will move the file off the desktop and then try it. Thanks Mr. Deft :)

have you tried the "collect all and save" feature when going from one machine to the next.

is the architecture the same on both macs? (ppc vs. intel)

maybe a bad plug on one architecture but not the other?

have you tried removing all of your plugins and slowly adding them?

It may be the architecture (desktop is a ppc and the lappy is an intel) i will try and remove all the plugs and retry. Thanks

now you can add the plugs one by one and see which one it is.
