To cold for the controller?

i had similar problems with my BCR in both outdoor gigs by a river (cold and moist) and indoor gigs in a sweatbox (alos lots of bass vibration) - pretty much whenever i used it outside my studio.

my solution was to ditch USB and connect the BCR by good old midi. has been 100% ever since!

Good idea! But my midi interface is also conected with usb so..

I didnt get sync from my partner with this midi interface...(maudio/midisport uno) it usualy always work...something realy bad was going on there..

Seemed like usb devices lost conection after 20 minutes. Because the same thing happened when I borrowed another controller, the evlolution uc-33. And this one had been used with out no problems just a couple of hours before my live set.

Well, im playing again outdoor, up here in norway this weekend, and im still waiting for my freakin lenovo lappie.

Ill try to use a different controller this time. Also maybe I should borrow a friends laptop rather then bringing the old, big ass, dodgy acer?

how is it hard to test this?

1) take rig outside
2) play gig without crowd
3) observe whether hardware works
4) profit

or am i being an idiot?

your test results are always, and will always be, worth vastly more than our responses.

Well, to get the proper humidity you would need to walk about one hour into the forest to this water where the venue will be at. And of course you would need to drive to the forest first. But another aspect to take to account is that the temperature may vary that day from 5 degrees Celsius to 30, and you never know before that day. Thats Norway for you.

But yeah I guess I could just test it on my veranda!

There's something to be said for just testing if things work with the temperature, then adding moisture. (Not something I normally recommend for controllers)

What kind of temperatures do you have up there? It's like 32 degrees here in Germany now...

Wow, nice! I wanted to go to psycrowdelica festival, but it was canceled last weekend. I almost bought flight tickets the day before it was announced! Luckily I waited. Sound like good festival temperatures there now.

Germany is a great festival country.

Its like 15+ up here in the day, but it could go as high as 30 on saturday! So fingers crossed, though anything could happen still. And the temperature at night can still get very much down.
