The PD patch is messy in it's current state, and it requires you to turn off the BCR midi input in live every time you want to MIDI map something off PD. It still needs a bunch of work for me to think it's share worthy.
Still, if you simply copy how the patch is made off that image, you'll get the exact same functionality. Just set everything you want to be Channel changeable between the range after the big subpatch's [loadbang] (64 to 81 in my case), and set two buttons to add/substract 1 to CC 105 on Ch. 1. That should do the trick.

SAVAGE!
SAVAGE!
I've only been using BCR since yesterday and took a gander thru the boards to check for tips.
Nice one!
Okay, i'm really lost, does this mean that i can change my controller map to another controller map with a button on the controller?
Secondly, i'm using a gamepad through glovePIE as my midi device, i'm pretty knew at this so a lot of the instructions given confuse me.
Are there any values that are specific to your controller or in other words...what the hell do i need to do?!
This does look awesome though and thanks for sharing

Did u have to edit a file called "User Configuration.txt" or have someone edit it?dovemouse wrote:Okay, i'm really lost, does this mean that i can change my controller map to another controller map with a button on the controller?

Don't know glovePIE (yet) but if it sends MIDI to Live then u just need to figure out what MIDI messages are being sent from each button etc on your game controller.
You can find out by using MIDI map map each buttoin etc to a clip slot (for example) and u can read what it is sending. There will be a number between 1 and 16 before the backslash - that is the 'channel' the MIDI is sending on.
Find out that much and come back for instructions.
Also, let us know what kind of controls u have on the game pad (never used one).
I don't need to edit "User Configuration.txt", as far as i know, i haven't touched it if that's what you're asking
I can set any button to any channel and eny CC for example right now i have this setup:
midi2.channel5.Control40 = Joystick2.button1
midi2.channel5.Control41 = Joystick2.button2
midi2.channel5.Control43 = Joystick2.button3
midi2.channel5.Control42 = Joystick2.button4
Just a simple for button setup, so button 1 on my gamepad sends 5/40 to Ableton.
So, what next?
Thanks.
