esi duafire (firewire) pop & clicks on ESI ASIO -Ableton

i have a esi duafire (firewire) and using ableton 6,7 i have a pops & clicks on ESI ASIO driver.

strange thing is that in cubase 4 le on this same driver sound is clean without any pops and clicks.

tested on my notebook toshiba a100-36 windows xp
- pc amd sempron on nforce chiipset

i also tried to disconnect any unused harware, checked irqs etc.
i think, i tried everything possible.

max ESI latency - 10 ms
samplerate - 44 khz, 48khz, 96 khz

please help

I had a similar problem with my ESI U46SE........i thought it was my Toshiba Sattlite Laptop for a while,

I enabled the Asio 4 All driver instead and the problem stopped.....

also when i'm use asio 4 all i have sometimes clicks and i play only a 1 wav file at time without any vsti plugis, vst.
