MOTU Ultralite + Thunderstorm Power Surge = Bad?
There was a massive thunderstorm in my city. I wasn't around to power down my studio. There was a power outage. Now my MOTU Ultralite does not power on.
It was connected with Firewire 6p-6p, and it's standard DC power cable.
(I was never able to get it to run off Firewire bus power, for some odd reason.)
Any suggestions? Is there a power-cycle or something I can try? is it totally fried, and garbage, or can it be repaired?
Any advice whatsoever would help... thanks.

Try it with another adapter cord (can get one from radio shack if there isnt one around the house). If it works your in luck. If it doesnt consider yourself lucky that it was the only thing that got fried. Also check to make sure its not the surge surpressor that isnt working.

Are you telling us you do not plug your gear into a power conditioner? If so, it is probably fried like chicken.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.
