The Ramones. What can one really say? The Island Monkeys tried and tried for years to rip them off, but only came up with pale imitations. The Clash nearly got there, but not quite.
They're wicked man. Loved the first track. Haven't heard that much of them before that i remember. Like the drive of it, yeah it works. Those tracks are pumped with energy!
why don't you try to enjoy other topics/posters on the forums?
obviously not possible on this forum. Its a bit fucked you know, there are a lot of good people here but one can't fucking open a thread about music that makes you happy without some fuckwit commenting the shit of it and turning every phrase you wrote. What can i do? I like a lot of the people here and some i even talk off-board with. Should i really just leave because of a few idiots who always come in and fuck everything up?
Try reading better @thefool.
Not outright saying you should jump ship to other forum; what I'm really saying is to dare yourself to plainly just IGNORE TD for like, next month. There's even a greasemonkey script floating around, whereby you can absolutely smite every post by TD so that you don't even see it.

If a couple of other forum members do fill in for TD and keep barricading you, then you'll know it's not actually TD or other people, but in fact, YOUR END of the line.

that's all.
over and out.

Yes, now you're getting it.
Also, i'll venture an advice which in no way is meant to be offensive, it's truly meant to better your online experience:

I'm from GR originally. Isn't there some places for you to gig in Detroit and Ann Arbor? You should get out there.

Hmm a tiesto bass? You're probably just talking of a more or less common square/saw thing. Easy job though, it depends a bit on how you're rythm is though.

its about how the track is you know. Do you need a fat kickdrum then obviously you have a lowcut on the bass. Do you need a fat bass its the other way around

Some tracks have room for a REALLY huge kick because there is barely anything going on in the lower frequency ranges.

But you say a fat tiesto bass, i'd suggest you to watch out for the arranging instead and make sure the bassline compliment the kick and then worry about equalizing later (and then probably cut some of the kick and have the bass in, to get the phat bass as i said earlier.)

sidechaining is a good way to make enough space. But you also don't want the bottom end to be one all the time, you probably want some changes in it so you can FEEL when the kick comes and when the bass hits.

Its all about using your ears mate

Well, I gigged a couple times up at my school (CCS). Beyond that i really have no connections for anything like that, i tried calling a couple places, and nothing ever happened. I was calling Submerge too and trying to get maybe a deal or see if they could help me out, but i don't think they go for my type of stuff, i guess they go for that safe "Detroit techno" thing, whatever that is. I want to gig really bad though, Went to the DEMF and didn't really like the people i stayed to see, Although I really hate myself for missing Bogdan Rasczyinski.

If you know of anyplace or anybody let me know man

Think the real inovators are the software developers and the sounddesigners who make the presets.

Otherwise most music is just a copy off what happened in the past with more fancy sounds.
