Using Guitar Rig controller for live looping?
Using Guitar Rig controller for live looping?
Is it possible to use the guitar rig controller to trigger clips for recording and doing live looping? I know there are alot of midi foot controllers designed for this purpose, but I would rather not have another piece of equipment on the floor if i dont have too. I'm surprised I havent seen anyone do this, i'm sure there is a good reason.
Wake, work, sleep.
The good reason is..
It is propitiatory.. it doesn't send out MIDI.
I have seen the Rig 3 being used to loop with GR and it seemed to be okay at that, the only issue being when you change a preset in GR every unit in the rack is swapped out so to loop inside GR you need to set up every amp tone you are going to use and then make use of the splitter box module so you can switch whole chains on and off.
The one time a messed with it i liked that you could build you loop performance up in GR then have GR spit all of the separate loops out as individual files that you could import into your DAW and mix later...
As to the Rig Kontrol, it hasn't really lit my imagination as a piece of hard ware, I have an FCB1010 that i use for other stuff and i am planning to set up with GR to see how that works out using GR as an FX rack and looper along with my Pod X3L as the amp modeler.

Shit man... so you say it doesn't send out midi. Thats terrible why wouldn't they make so that it does. The box is there how much harder could it be for them to implement sending midi? Damn I feel gipped, anyway yeah looks like Ill have to try out the fcb1010, how is it so far?? Thanks for the reply.Homebelly wrote:The good reason is..
