Ableton Live 4 & MIDI Quantization Help

Hi

I'm having problems quantizing MIDI notes I have recorded in Ableton Live 4. I've set the 'Record Quantization' to 'Sixteenth Note Quantize', but it doesn't seem to actually quantize the recorded notes. Then when I try to manually quantize the notes, it sets the value to to 1/1. I know the MIDI capabilities of Ableton are'nt as advanced as Logic or Cubase, but surely you can set the quantize value of recorded notes?!

Also, I can't change the quantize view of the MIDI editor in Live. It seems to be set to 1/4, and I can't find an option anywhere to change.

Can someone please tell me I'm being stupid here and missing something, because If Albleton doesn't support these basic MIDI features, I'm not sure why there's any point in using it as a compositional tool.

The grid resolution depends on your zoom level:
zoom in as much as possible to be able to change it up to 32T max.

Use cmd/1,2,3,4 to increase/decrease/triplet/disable grid. You can set the resolution up to 1/16384 if you're zoomed in!!!!

Muthafunka's corrects (I do alot of drum programming in 64th's and 128th note resolutions also and the grid goes down to stupendously low crotchet devisors when zooming in .
Personally anything lower than 256ths is not really needed here
