Juno 106 + Arpeggiator Q...

Post by alexanderbeetle » Wed Jun 18, 2008 10:25 am

Hi, I am trying to use the midi arpeggiator in ableton with my 106, but am having trouble doing so... I can get the arp to playback to the 106 after I've recorded in my notes to a clip loop, but I can't seem to use it in a live capacity... Anyone got any ideas why? Can the 106 not send and receive midi at the same time, or have I likely missed a setting somewhere?

Many thanks! :D

I think the problem is that you can't get a 106 to ignore it's own internal note ons/offs. You can route the MIDI out, into Live, through an arp, and back to the 106's MIDI in, but once it gets there, that note would already be "on".

I've checked through the manual to see if there's a way to turn the Juno's internal routing off, but there's no obvious solution.

Your best hope is to use another MIDI keyboard into Live, and route the arp'd output to the Juno.

Thanks for the advice... That was kinda the conclusion that I had come to. Thankfully I've got a controller keyboard stashed away that I'll dust off to use. Cheers again! 8)
