Having trouble finding one for me. I just have a big flat desk from Ikea, and my monitors are too low, and I need somewhere to neatly fit a couple bits of hardware too.

EDIT: Here's a sketch of what my desk currently looks like (with monitors). They're far too low and need a shelf as described above that is about that width. Any ideas?

Hey, i bought that same desk yesterday!!! But with one of the 80x60 extensions.
I'm gonna go with speaker stands and put them behind the desk.
Yeah, I don't have the space for stands behind! Plus, a nice shelf thing would be a good place to situate my Machinedrum and Nord Rack 2X.

well there is an enormous gap in the market there. Since we're dealing with distinguished IKEA men I recommend getting one of these:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90104814 - the white one.
-and a set of these:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20049538 - the low ones.
Desk shelf - 8 quid. BYOscrews.

Now the tilted thing for machinedrums can be done with one of these:

well, that big flat surface will most probably apply a slight yet noticeable notch filtering to your speaker's sound. Other than insulation between the speakers and the desk (like mopads) you'll pretty much have to just get used to that sort of EQ. More involved solutions that I can think of are: 1. hang them from the ceiling or 2. get your dremell/disc saw out, and chop off the wood flush right up to the beginning of each speaker, on the top surface. But yea, maybe you won't like that ... it's all good

Why not just drill and screw up though the shelf brackets into the bottom of the speaker?

I don't know ...
it seems to me that the desk has so much surface that to clear the surface the stubs would have to be too high - higher than the ear?

That would be an improvement, still.

It's just guesswork

The dimensions are off! The monitors have a much bigger footprint on the desk.
