Any Asio4All experts?

Post by spudmonster1976 » Wed Jun 18, 2008 11:44 pm

I've posted a very similar issue in the past so it's convenient to copy, paste and edit...

I use a Line6 Toneport UX2 with Live 6.0.10. I've found asio4all to be the best for recording audio but something has gone wrong. I disabled all other audio (HDA device, SigmaTel HDA CODEC). The two options in the dropdown for my Toneport device read "Out: 2x 44.1-48 kHz, 24 Bits" and "In: 2x 44.1-48 kHz, 24 bits". The "Out" row is reading "beyond logic", but the in row is "running". This only occurs after I've opened Live. It used to happen scarcely, now it happens every time!?!

After scouring the manual and forums as usual, I'm stuck.

Thanks,
W[/u]

Hey spud

I had nothing but problems with asio4all and vista so i ended up buying an external card that had its own asio drivers .

good luck . did it ever work properly on vista ?

hey,

you know, it worked for awhile but since this machine is my all-purpose, the settings get tweaked sometimes and new programs probably threw the audio all out of whack...

i guess that's what I get for not touching ableton for months :)

external sound card! I've never heard of that but i'm ready to try anything within reason. how does it work for you? do you recommend it?

thanks!

Yea, the Line 6 actually comes with an asio driver but it is quite poor. With all the tweaking in the world, I would still get a noticeable delay caused by latency so...

Asio4all seemed to be the magic answer to this, until it started acting crazy. I'm currently just looking for semi-detailed setup notes on people with a similar system as mine (Live6, External audio interface, midi controller, vista32bit...) Maybe that would give me a clue on what settings I have wrong.

Not many tutorials on this kind of thing (non-ableton program/ OS settings)

Well, thanks!
