Guess it will come in the end of 2008. They released a version every year and I think they will keep that tradition (2008->v8 is cool).

I can tell you what the collaboration is all about:

They all get together once every 2 months and go on a big team building outing. Sometimes go-karting, sometimes paintball. Afterwards they go for a nice meal and have a chat about what they can do with their software.

Over some tapas a few months ago, Ableton asked Cycling if they had any hot tips for Live 8. Cycling suggested a vocorder, then the next round of drinks showed up and the conversation turned to what club they were all heading to.

Hadn't you heard? Gerhard has finally finished painting their offices and, with the all new 'photo launch' functions in L8, you can look at, gasp, screenshots of him, in real time, over a year ago...

Seriously - who cares what the c74 collab has resulted in unless it directly involves dealing with Live users most requested features? A quick glance over at the forum:

Automation in Session
Elastique Pro
128 Parameters
Group/Folder Tracks
GUI update/modular windows/rack management
Workflow improvements/LFO's etc etc etc

Now if the sum total, which I imagine it won't be, is a vocoder (1940's tech) and some fantastic C74 gray boxes with smaller gray boxes in them that 3 fanboi's can OSC over then great - meanwhile the wider userbase will still be requesting the above list...
