Netherlands with a B team still convincing against Romania... where does it end? :)

Well done Poster, not bad, we both got one winner right. Couldn't believe France's bad luck though - to lose Ribery so early, to get that red card (definitely a penalty, but a red card was a bit harsh), and that second goal deflected off Henry's foot - they were just painful to watch. I thought Italy were definitely the better side though - deserved the win in the end.
As for NL, if that's the second string team...?!? ...then see you in the final! :D

I think that the whole rule is utter bollocks; if you commit a foul against an
attacker when you're the last defender, you're automatically sent off - fair
enough, but when this happens within the box, and the attacking side is
awarded a penalty anyway, I think a yellow card is sufficient.

That said, I think France were quite toothless, and got what they deserved -
even though they were actually in the process of playing their best match so
far until Ribery was injured. This championship has been one where the
offensive teams are rewarded. I'm a long time supporter of the Netherlands,
which is due to me completely falling in love during the Gullit, van Basten &
Riikjard days, so I'm really happy that they have done well so far, but I fear
that both Italy and Germany will come to life pretty soon, as they (and
especially the latter) tend to do.

This year, I really like Spain and the Netherlands. (Does anyone know if
Puyol will be fit for the next match(es)? I find him the best defender in
the cup, now that Cannavaro is out) Oh, and Croatia could be a true dark
horse! :)

Yeah, agree with your comments on the red card rule. Not sure about Germany though, they've been playing pretty badly and I'll be extremely surprised if they get past Portugal. If it goes to penalties though, we can count on Germany to stay calm and for Ronaldo to miss :D

NL are a pleasure to watch - really nice football. Hope they go far...

Croatia... definitely!

Argentina were the best team in the 2006 world cup but they didn't win it.

NL and Spain are playing good football, i'm thinking maybe a NL - Croatia final? I mean, who would have guessed Greece would win it last time?

i watched alittle of the italy-france and the netherlands-romania game until it became to unbearable to watch my two favorite players playing on different teams...henry and van persie. I hope the dutch go all the way.

Agreed, Croatia are strong but Holland are blazing right now. My prediction for the semis: Croatia v Portugal and Holland v Spain.

I predict Croatia 2 Portugal 1, Holland 2 Spain 1.

Croatia 1 Holland 0 in a tense final... :) or more likely Holland 3 Croatia 1 :)

Portugal will be a hard team for Croatia to beat. Anyway, I'm still up for Germany.

I love Sweden but Russa were spectacular against them tonight.

We missed a lot of chances.
Our goalie compromised a lot.
They scored almost 100% of their chances.

Congrats to Germany...
