please help - rewire and midi and disappearing ports?

Hello -

I am using Live 4 as a slave to Cubase SX 2

Does Live 4 not support full Rewire 2 including sending midi?

And why do my midi in ports disappear in Live during this same configuration (as a slave to cubase)? Only my midi in ports for my RME Digiface disappear.. My other midi ports for my external midi interface (motu mtpav) are visible and active in both master and slave simultaneously. It is like the master app - Cubase - locks the ports from use from any other app...

So no matter what in this situation I can't get midi to the slave either through Rewire or directly through the Digiface/midi ports...!!

help, anyone, please,

Really, is my question or problem not clear? or does no one actually use this program in a Rewire scenario to send midi from a master to Live the slave?

any help or comments appreciated

Hi dk01,

yes, you're right. it is not possible to send
midi from live to the master app when running
live as rewire slave, sorry.

I do not know exactly, but I think, cubase locks
the rme midi ports exclusively, because the midi
in should work also in rewire slave mode. if it does
not, the master must have locked it.
