Sagan was dead or dying when the movie was made, so the choice to include that image probably has nothing to do with Sagan. I still don't understand the supposed purpose behind putting these little 'clues' in movies, architecture, city designs, etc. If Sagan was trying to tell us there is life in the Pleiades, couldn't he have just written a book or made a show about that?

No book, because it's a secret, (But IMO i'm sure he would've loved to !) but they (freemasons) speak to eachother thru symbols, and 90 % of communication is done this way on a global scale thru the media , if you know how to read the symbols, you can understand the messages, they fucking love that , and can't help but give clues along the way, to let others know that they're in the "club"

You can confuse man with different languages (tower of Babylon bronze aged fairy tales), but the language of symbols remains the same

So why would they include this image in your opinion ?
Not many people have caught that image, but there are other secret hints, clues & stuff regarding the pineal gland and sacred geometry in the movie contact

To convey the point that there are as many worlds out there as there are grains of sand. I think you are reading masonic symbolism into it because that is what you want to see. I think a more realistic explanation is that some people make a living from selling other people paranoid fantasies wherein they learn hidden knowledge that helps them feel they are "in" on the big secret, justifies apathy and fear, and explains everything without having to do much real research or accepting that things might not boil down to a simple tidy answer.
