New Celemony preview --- anyone's seen this?
Apparently this isn't gonna happen, according to Celemony.dr.wackler wrote:Actually this should be possible in some form or another. Like they teamed up with AAS for the synths (or like you can buy additional timestretching algorithms for Logic), there could be a co-development to integrate Melodyne into Live.gp23 wrote:Right, come on Ableton. I want this in real-time in Live 8.
The big disatvantage of running Melodyne Plugin in a host is that you can't copy/paste events in the timeline, and if you do 'cut/paste/insert time' instructions in Live's Arrangement view, they won't be reflected in Melodyne Plugin's timeline. So you quite often have to render the edited audio just to be able to arrange conveniently.
I would love to have a direct integration of Melodyne and Live and would pay for it as an option.
Ableton, think about it! Would be a great deal.

Well, someone should buy them out, then. Miracle-hoarding c-words..rozling wrote:Apparently this isn't gonna happen, according to Celemony.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

I've been playing with the demo and fuck... the interface seems like it was designed by a guy who usually does firmware for washing mashines. Or something.

If this software fulfills what it promises, I think Celemony would easily find enough financial backing (even in these difficult financial times) to ward of even the biggest predators such as Sony, Yamaha and the like.noisetonepause wrote:Well, someone should buy them out, then. Why would you sell out with a product like this? They will probably license its use out to many companies and make a fortune that way.
I think Peter Neubacker might be the software equivalent of Bob Moog.
I just puked mine up thanks to the first 3 seconds, so now you owe me a spleen!!Atomikat wrote:We can make a very good job with Melodyne here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95dJonNL ... re=related
Transcribing possible for deaf people like me
just spend 2 hours figuring out the guitar chords I played in a jam two days ago. They still don't sound right.
this happens to me all the time... can't wait to have this direct note access melodyne!
I think transcribing will be a huge market for the direct note access technology, much bigger than the few people who will want to change an Am chord into A7#11 in a recording.

Live 12.1.5; Push 3; Mac OS 12.7.6
Ableton should really have this!!!
I realize that separating notes must be hard to do but don't you think that the solution has been right in front of us for a decade?
Look at a spectral graph of the sound wave, you can see peaks in amplitude across key frequencies. Knowing that a fundamental tone will have overtones at a predictable interval, can't you separate them by amplitude/frequency using FFT and move them in the pitch domain and resynthisize them using a high quality additive-like FFT construction?
The picture almost gives away the secret... I'm sure it's harder than I make it out to be but that HAS to be the direction used. Any one have information?

exactly. the concepts are getting easier to wrap your head around but the nuts and bolts is a highly specialized discipline, not only doing it in the first place, but doing it right. I've known real DSP guys who have been dabbling in this stuff for YEARS and don't really get anywhere.Machinate wrote:- but these days everyone is saying "oh yeah, that's so obvious - the data is RIGHT THERE!
ultimately it's a disgrace to music. every musician who died prior to, I dunno, 1970 is rolling in their graves. just fucking play it right the first time, or 80th time if that's what it takes. then again, as a hobbyist who can't sing, I've considered melodyne just for shits and grins.
where's that thread on today's music all sounding the same?? this sucks.

So now we will have even more T-Pain clones, an army of Tpains as far as the eye can see!!Tone Deft wrote:exactly. the concepts are getting easier to wrap your head around but the nuts and bolts is a highly specialized discipline, not only doing it in the first place, but doing it right.
