Routing with Audigy 2

I'm trying to get Live 4 to route a different signal to my output channels - basically trying to get the "cue" option to work.

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum which I *think* (?) supports multiple channels out so I assume I have the means...

I've connected my mixer channels to the three output ports on the soundcard rear panel and each of these is a different stereo channel. Then (I would assume) I could cue by sending the signal as described in the Live manual to, say, ch 3/4 and continue the main output on ch 1/2.

Life, however, doesn't seem to work like that. Is this because the Audigy doesn't have "true" separate output channels (I've seen lots of stuff on it sending front/rear/woofer output but nothing on separate signals) - or am I doing something obviously wrong?

I had the same problem with the Audigy card. Have you set the driver type to ASIO instead of DirectX? If you still have no luck, try downloading kx projects ASIO for all driver. The link is:

Patch, cheers for this. Have installed it but now I'm the most confused man on the planet...

I'm sure that if it can be done, KX will let me. But I'm not sure how. Simply I want to:

- route signals destined for channel 1/2 to one stereo jack on my card
- route signals for 3/4 to another stereo jack on my card

I then have my mixer taking two stereo channels out the back of my PC - one for 1/2, another for 3/4.

End result I'm looking for is to be able to cue on headphones for channel 3/4 (with my PA on 1/2). Then when I'm happy with the mix, bring in 3/4 so that it hits the audience.

I guess the fundamental question is: does the Audigy2 do this? It seems pretty sure that Live does, but so far I only seem to be able to get "different sounding" timbres from the ouputs of my Audigy, not completely different channels. I've got a suspicion which is that the Audigy doesn't "really" support different channel output but instead has front left right, back left right, sub bass which are all different sounding subsets of the other. But I could be barking.

Ableton support provided no fix.No hope. Nothing.
Another drawback of 4.0.
Routing only worked with 24/96 asio drivers slected and kx drivers dont support all platinum ex cards yet.
3.0 works great with sb cards.
One day maybey!
Kx driver are great though. I miss em already.

Okay - I finally got pre-listening sorted on my Audigy Card. I completely uninstalled the Creative drivers AND the Kx Project drivers. Then I re-installed the Kx Drivers latest update (Available from http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/down.php?language=en) Then start Live and go into preferences. Set the Hardware configuration to 441000 Khz, and set the latency accordingly (mine is something like 5ms). Then set your Master out put to Kx ASIO 4/5, and your pre-listening to Kx ASIO 6/7. Now, most importantly (this is what I was missing - D'oh!) DISABLE all the outs you're not using on the card in the preferences window in Live. VOILA!!! Pre-listening on one channel, master/house mix on t'other! Let me know how you get on with this - I was really frustrated without proper pre-listening and I bet you are too...

Hi Patch - I just found this thread, and I'm yet another Audigy user pulling my hair out. I've followed your instructions to the letter, but when I go into the Live config options there are just the usual 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8 etc options, no option to combine 4 with 5 or 6 with 7. Plus I've got no idea what to look for in the kX config options - any ideas? The output isn't even reaching my headphones at all now... never mind not splitting into master and cue.

Ive got the Audigy Live PCI by the way (ie not Audigy 2 or EX etc), does that limit my options?

I realise this is probably old news by now, but any help would be great!
