Just a quick note, as the news don't seem to have got around: There is a new 1.28 beta XP driver out on the M-Audio US site, which so far (well, at least for one weekend) has fixed the ASIO driver shutdown problem for me.

M-Audio Quattro: New beta driver seems to fix ASIO

just bumping this post up to reiterate the message to anyone using a quattro and XP.
i picked up a quattro the other week and was experiencing the same ASIO freeze ups. after installing the winXP service pack 1 and the 1.28 beta driver for the quattro it now works fine.
there is still some mild crackling noises when i begin to work the cpu heavily - but no freezing. i'm also going to try running the quattro through a pcmcia usb 2.0 cardbus this weekend to see if that helps out with the crackling (i need to get one anyway for an ext. HD). i'll update if that helps.
all in all it is very stable now with new beta driver.
cheers.
