ok, so i read the tutorial and everything makes sense, it all seems easy until....i have to go through every one of my tracks and have to lay down warp markers and save them? this seems like a total pain in the ass.
what's everyone's techniques for djing w/ mp3s?
DJing a pain in the ass...?
you can't use mp3s with Live.
and yes you have to warp all your tracks and save them
but -- there have been several warping threads in the general forum lately... scroll down.

If you tap the tempo the grid markers will typically fall into place and you'll only need two or three warp markers for an entire song. You can literally warp marker an entire track in no time. There is a tutorial in the Ableton tutorial section that works, but instead of warping every 16 measures try every 64 measures or 128 measures.
One IMPORTANT thing to keep in mind..either use your audio editor or move the song start position so the first audible sound is the downbeat of one. Usually a kick drum, but some songs start with a reverse cymbol or some odd build up. This will make warping songs as easy as saying the word LIVE!!! Because your are starting with the downbeat of one and you've tapped the tempo, all the work is done for you. Just minor grid/warp adjustment then click "Save" in the clip view and you're done.
