Well if you 1) assign the two audio channels to different sides of the crossfader and 2) assign a midi controller to the crossfader, then you can just hit record and move the crossfader. Works like it does from clip view.
Or you can draw the crossfader controller like the man said.

Only using the 2 tracks cross fader A>B workaround at present, hopefully it will be something they include in an upcoming release as it can be done on one track in Cubase, Logic, Protools, ACID/Vegas, DP, Samplitude and mostly every other DAW around.
