Why Do so Many People think VinYL is Dead
Why Do so Many People think VinYL is Dead
really, we use Live to host samples and instruments and midi controllers to trigger them, that is a simple concept right?
but when was the last time you were this involved with your midi controller.
now some folks say turntablist our different and not a worthy analogy but why, they are just triggering sounds, controlling sounds, and creating new sounds on the fly aren't they. don't they create crossfades between samples, make basslines, drum parts , leads, echos and other effects and they do it all with out plugins.

I think plenty of Live users still use and don't pay much homage to the 'vinyl is dead' argument.
People have been saying that for 15 years, but more and more vinyl releases are around, even from emo and indie bands in limited quantities, let alone dance orientated music. In the past couple of years there has been a bit of a revival in fact, and in the DJ world, software and C-DJ stuff still only represents a minority and often in co-existence with turntables.

You know what the say in that history repeats itself. Vinyl is not dead. Eventually we will get tired of using certain controller imitations that just don't cut it and go back to the basics. Vinyl is a good compliment to Live so it will always be in my studio.

i look forward to the day when oil is as precious as diamonds
ie no one drives anywhere & if u want to get your 12" dubplate
then you have to turn up with the master & a box full of old
records, ready for recycling...
when that happens i'll happily put my old 50 solid gold sh+ts
LPs on ebay for the desperate recyclers...
mastering/dubplate dude: "you can either provide us with
200,000 plastic shopping bags or 25 Lps from 1970-1980
or you can pay us$2000/12" for us to source your petroleum
byproducts for you... its up to you, bro.... "

Dude, I don't know what's your problem but you obviously have issues. Maybe wanking too much or being too much in love with your bedroom mirror?
I can give you not 5 but a hundred record shops in London, that's not the problem. The problem for me is that I do not want to buy the records you 'crave cause they're probably a full load of shit.
You don't state what music these record shops you're talking about sell and you don't know what music I'm into either and have no idea what my record collection consists of. So saying "I can name at least 5" is just a stupid arrogant statement and next thing you're gonna ask me is to measure our dicks.

unfortunately no, but my point i guess was more that it ain't about what you use, it's how you use it. people do get into it even with a midi controllerEgAD wrote:is that you clearscreen?Clearscreen wrote:http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=CKWaqqJ_6RUEgAD wrote:but when was the last time you were this involved with your midi controller.
