I think the keyboard acts as a dongle, but I could be talking out of what I should be sitting on :)

you can have it from Korg with Micro Kontrol instead but not without hardware (i just ordered it like that on Friday coz with Micro Kontrol its a bargain and M K is the perfect controller for that pluggie, u can also use it for mobile purposes)

I didnt wanna have that fake MS20 thingie, too clumsy, unuseful for me.

The keyboard doesn't act as a dongle.
I have to admit I don't like the keyboard. I wish I waited before getting it. I would have preferred Micro control instead (if the rumour is true that is)

I bought the Legacy collection without the keyboard from a friend who to my delight, liked the controller but didn't want the software so no it dosen't act as a dongel. I am really suprised that Korg wouldn't sell this in the future without the controller. Makes sense that they are selling it with the upgraded Microkontrol... I really do want to pick one of those up!

My question to the forum is how do I use this in Live aws a Vsti? I currently use Live version 2 and would be willing to upgrade to 4 if neccessary. In the meantime if anyone knows a quick run-down in how to get this running as a Vsti it would be greatly appreaciated!

i wonder if they'll offer a deal to someone who already owns a mK. i emailed them asking about the MDE-X and stuff that they are currently bundling with mK, but no response yet.

i love the mK tho - it's a great little controller.

using an external controller with korg legacy

Post by davidgray » Sun Feb 27, 2005 11:27 pm

i also have the korg legacy cell software but not the hardware. is anyone using an external controller with the legacy software in vsti mode (i'm using live 4.04 as the host)? i'm specifically having trouble with getting the legacy vsti's to recognize my midi keyboard. this is somewhat frustrating, since my only option without figuring out how to get the external midi keyboard to work is to play the keys with the mouse, which means i can only play one note at a time. help!
