Repeating Hiss in Ableton

Post by soupking » Tue Jul 08, 2008 6:25 pm

Hi, I've noticed that Ableton makes a hiss, hiss, hiss, hiss when I'm not playing or editing the MIDI section.

I'm not sure why it's doing this. Has this happened to anybody?

probably an internal computer noise, any number of HF / electrostatic possibilities.

I noticed that if I record with my mic too close to the laptop it picks up a phasing sound but that's RF from the LCD screen, not Live.

What is your computer system ? G5 macs are known to have some noise issues but there was a bugfix published that helps fix it.

I have a G4 Powerbook.

It was happening when I was on an airplane, so maybe that had something to do with it. It's not doing it now. Now, I'm learning how much the Powerbook can handle at once.

Like ESPN.com kills it so I just shut off the Internet.

Thanks Leeds!
