i think easy question about envelopes

Post by de wouzer » Wed Jul 09, 2008 1:38 pm

I made a loop in a clip (actually it is only one note with the analog).
I connected the autofilter
When i turn the knobs of the frequency and the rate, i create a very nice bassline

I try to automize this, with envelopes.
I can draw this envelopes, with these parameters.

but when I draw them, they don't sound very interresting, they are borring and have no tension

so I want these envelopes to be drawned automatically when I turn my knobs of my midicontroller.

I know how to do this in the arrangementsession, while recording

I don't know how to do this in the clips with the envelopes.

Is there someone that can help me?

probably the closest you could get would be to do it in the arrangement view, then copy and paste the envelope into a clip.
we are all bound to do what we want most.

it is possible to remember the knob tweaks from the joystick. i think it;s strange that it is impossible to "record" midi changes into audio clips. Really no possibility?

This is what I found, when I wanted to give an answer to someone else.
It is the answer of my own question too.... didn't try it yet, but I think this is totally amazing!

It only works with midi clips as you can record any midi information (note, cc etc). It is not possible to record automation in the clip view for audio clips as mentioned by the other guys.

so it should work for samler, analog, operator.... I think... or am I wrong?

And with massive, absynth and fm8?

and when you use audio instruments on these synths/sampler?

Yes thats right. If the instruments (massive, analogue etc) do not respond to midi cc messages then use the work around in the you tube video you posted. You will not be able to record automation for any audio effects you then place after the instrument in the chain this automation must happen on the arrange page).
