routing MIDI to VST fx

I want (for instance) to use PSP Nitro's midi-triggered env's on a recorded sequence, (I've recorded a sequence off an analog synth and I want to add a highpass using Nitro)

I tried using Nitro as an instrument, hoping I could route audio to it as an effect. No joy. Does anyone know how to do this , if not, ableton SORT IT OUT!!! I can do this in Cubase SX no probs, but wanna do it in Live!!

You can already do this easily. Look at the menu just below the midi output selector. You can choose the plugin that receives the midi.
