monitor off stops recording

why the

if i turn monitor off while recording a track it stops recording ?

Hello

Because you determine a Tracks input with the monitor switch.

They've essentially combined the "arm" (for recording) and "monitor" buttons into one button.

If you monitor a track - you record to it automagically. It's by design.
