I'm assuming that's an unlimited data plan? we don't have those in Europe, but the data plan I get with my company is 1 kroner per meg. No amount of service plans in Denmark would be able to touch that, as far as I know.

But then I'm that duded that would rather buy a more expensive phone to get one without a subscription. Has worked out very well in the past, and I pay zero if I don't use my phone.

I'd like to get one eventually, but I was a little dismayed to read about how different the battery life is between a smartphone and a regular phone...it seems like you have to charge something like an iphone more or less every day if you're using it much? And it looks like battery life on the 3G is much worse than on the first generation.

On that line does AT&T allow you to change your plan? If I Was you I would drop down to the lowest minutes you can get now.

I've heard they aren't built as sturdy as the first generation.

There there. Less talk about pricing plans, more talk about apps, please. There is this nice ear training app (15USD or something, free demo available) that I think I'm going to get (for my Touch). If I commuted I would get it for sure, but now I'm living within walking distance of university, so I'm not sure I'd get much use out of it..

The Remote is the nicest of the new Apps i tried this far. Too bad it doesn't have cover flow. That would be awesome.

There's unlimited data here in the UK with O2.

No idea about anywhere else.

IR 909

Post by Blip the Kid » Sun Jul 13, 2008 11:24 am

I just confirmed that the IR 909 app is being submitted to the App store for official release. He said it'd cost around 5 bucks. Which is is about 1/4 of what I'd pay for it.
Hopefully there is still some way to swap out the samples in the new OS. Either way its a great little app and I can't wait to use it on my new iPhone.

check it out on youtube.com http://youtube.com/results?search_query=ir-909

ah, meant to say "Denmark". I think the plan here is 300 megs/month, then they take your car if you're over?

The plans seem to vary a lot, I think we're lucky in the UK and have got one of the best deals - which are pretty competitive with other plans in the UK.

I've tried a few of the apps out. Best so far is Remote, might sound stupid but I think its convinced me to get a Mac Mini to use as a media centre.

There are some good tourist language translation type apps from lastminute.com which are useful and free. Well worth getting them if you're travelling within Europe.

I haven't see anything that I'd want to pay for yet.

I did the math this AM. It will cost you in money a little under $250 dollars over the course of your two year contract to upgrade or purchase a new Iphone

however, you will be on the 3g network - which some people would gladly $250 for

Apple did a good job on the pricing and service - they didn't screw over the original users and the new users are getting what they're paying for

all in all its a good day to have an Iphone :)
