This is basic---but...Since it appears that all of the Session Drums/kits/samples etc. are loaded into Live Packs---how do I load these ONLY onto the external HD so that they are available w/o having to use my HD space on my laptop?
(I've got all of the Session Drums material already loaded onto the external HD--and there's no way I have enough room for all that on my lappie, so...show me the way.)
And yes, I did do some searching before coming here, but no luck.
Thanks in advance.

No one?
I'll take a "RTFM--page _____" if I've missed something, and I know this is basic for most with lots of sample libraries.
I have an intentionally minimal setup, and I've just been able to get by with most of my samples on my laptop up till this point, and haven't run into this situation before.
To be clearer, I just want to (if possible) have all the presets, etc. listed on the regular Ableton library, but have all the Session Drums samples stored on my external HD for use when it's hooked up.
I thought by putting the samples on the external first, that I would also be able to load the live packs there, but it seems to go to the laptop's HD by default.
Any ideas?
