Using padKONTROL makes the metronome go silent...

Post by Daddy?! » Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:18 am

Here is what appears to be happening:

I have a kit (of 'one hit' drum samples) assigned to the Drum Rack. If I hit 'record' in LIVE 7 to create a beat and enter some real time midi notes using the metronome as my guide, there is no sound generated by the metronome. However, once I tap a pad on the padKONTROL the metronome pops on until the sample's duration is over, then the metronome stops making a sound again. Meanwhile, I can see it clicking left, right, left, right, etc. in the tool bar. As soon as I hit another padKONTROL pad, the metronome's sound reappears (then disappears again as soon as the sample has run its course).

It appears that the padKONTROL is somehow overriding the metronome's sound. I'm not sure why. Perhaps there is some type of note on/off confusion going on within the program.

Is this a bug, or do I not know what I am doing (be kind, please)?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

my first guess is that you've accidently mapped the pads to the metronome on/off. go into midi map mode and check that the metronome doesnt have a midi assignment.
