you don't know why? try this:
In Vietnam we either like the band or dislike the band.
because it's just like Viet Nam, so it seems.

@Tone Deft:

Please forgive me. I was being a bit tongue in cheek and over the top. I figured a few glaring generalizations and overstatements would drive the point home. Also, congratulations on associating "dumb fans" with "shit music". I saw what you did there! I think mdk got my point.

thats what i wrote einstein.
They all, however, write excellent music.
No they dont
Nobody has the right, aside from the artist who wrote it, to say that one type of music or one band are shit.
shit man, this is the wild-west-internets we all have the right to say if something is shit or not.

it'd be pretty tedious if everyone was 'diplomatic' and just said 'oh, its not really my thing you know, but i respect them as i respect all beings created in the oneness of energy in which we co-exist'

does every comment need qualifying with a big smiling IMO?
thats just one letter from EMO, and we all know EMO is a black-hole void of substance, style or self-worth.

it's all just wordplay.

IMO when someone rants against a band they need to balance that viewpoint with a band you should listen to instead. if you don't like NIN, what should people listen to in that vein of music? landrover does this A LOT.

In the Vietnamese internet music forum a person who blames the internet for not liking a band is banned from posting.

i blame the internet for me not liking hundreds of bands i would never have had the misfortune of hearing before it existed.

back to Tone Defts point about recommending something good to listen to related to NIN then the pigface album - Gub is brilliant.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gub

i prefer that version of suck to the later one.

Everything he did up until and including Downward Spiral I love (and the related remix albums). Everything afterwards has been, imo, a tragic embarrassing-to-listen-to waste.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Okay, fine. Jesus.

I'm going to recommend some things that all of you fucking douchebags should be listening to right now:

1. Neko Case: Canadian Amp
2. Jon Hassell: Maarifa Street
3. James Dean Bradfield: The Great Western
4. Townes Van Zandt: Rear View Mirror
5. Fripp & Eno: Beyond Even

There Tone. Are you fucking happy now? WTF. Jesus Christ.

A side note: Most of you no talent motherfuckers around here are simply not worthy to listen to #5, so don't even bother. You won't understand it.

Oh hell. Fuck it. Run along back to your fucking Daft Punk or whatever drivel you people claim is music.

hah! No no, I'm just playin'. Chillin with some Hassell right now.

And you didn't say anything about a NIN substitute. Shit. I mean, I dunno...

*landrvr1 shrugs and looks around*.

Rammstein.

Perfect.

Gay industrial Nazi music.

I mean, fucking East Germans for God's sake. Singing in that horrid throat cancer sounding native tongue of theirs. Perfect.

Oh hell. Put a Tool album on for fuck's sake.

I knew this guy who had this killer collection of vinyl. He would stand over his turntable ready to drop the needle and then pontificate about kids today and how they don't get it, their music sucks, bla bla ba. He would be ready to drop it and then start on another negative diatribe about musical idiots. "God damit stfu and drop the needle already....geez" The dude was standing there, hovering the needle above his fav tracks bitching about music that sucks. So yeah, he loved it. Funny as hell.

Hurt, good song. Played better by Johnny cash, produced amazingly by Rick Rubin. But still written by Trent. Industrial music isnt my cup of tea but a good song is a good song.
