knocked a plastic tumbler off the top shelf of my desk in college;
the tumbler landed perfectly on it's bottom edge on top of my notebook.
the crash broke & webbed the whole screen.
had to buy new laptop.
best piece of gear you ever spilled a beer on?
I just don't understand how someone can even think to have liquids near electrical gear. It's a no brainer to me. If you work hard for the stuff you own you think you would take care of it. Anyone I know who supports themselves basically feels the same way.
Another friend of mine is a trust fund kid who drives a $50,000 Acura with taco bell wrappers and cigarette butts all inside of it. He's on his third Macbook Pro due to spilling or dropping them. No care in the world. Daddy will buy him another one tomorrow.

about 6 years ago I let a roomate of mine who was drunk 24 hours a day use my nord while I was sleeping. when I woke up in the morning there was a tiny dry dot of liquid near the mod wheel and the mod wheel and pitch bender haven't worked since. totally lame.
last year I was stuck in a hotel alone for a month and got really drunk watching bad tv and lightly nudged my powerbook onto the floor. I thought "that was a little tiny drop, no biggy" picked it up and there was a nice big spiderweb crack accross the sceen. but I'm still using that bad boy
I just can't see anything in the top right or top left of the screen anymore. it's not even worth fixing that piece of crap.
lets see.. dropped a beer on a cheap midi pedal board that I had owned for about 3 days. that one cost me a whole 20 dollars down the drain

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

All three are accidents you could have easily prevented... especially #1.
Why were you stuck in a hotel for a month? That sounds like heaven to me.
I'm calling "trust fund kid" here. Nobody who isn't one has a Nord Lead in college. Even if you worked for the $1,500 synth you wouldn't let a drunk play with it. Also, there is no such thing as "a tiny dry dot of liquid." That to my knowledge, is impossible!
